The Company Of Your Own Mind

A creative person is one who enjoys, above all else, the company of his own mind.
- Denise Shekerjian, Uncommon Genius

Einstein worked through body sensations -- most of his concepts came to him in a preverbal state. Kekule’s idea of the benzene ring appeared to him in a dream-like reverie. Mozart directly  heard  his music. And the world’s best mathematicians solve complex problems not through analysis, but through intuition.
Extremely gifted people have command of many different states -- and are able to switch instantly from one mode to another. Inventors and artists are not alone in doing this: top athletes note that their peak performances coincide with shifts in consciousness. Using guided imagery, Eastern European athletes have set new standards in recent Olympic games.
- Article entitled “Noetics at Work”. I can’t remember where I came across this but perhaps The Tarrytown Letter, roughly 45 years ago.

Below two pages from the Nurturing The Song Within Art Journal and, below that, the Diary/Planner. Both are now at printers.
