No checks for anything other than donations please. Many reasons.
Tracking subscription expiration and notifying subscribers of their renewal date is a major administrative task,
and one prone to error. In Substack, and on this website, it is all automated and easy to double check later if I need to.
I sometimes receive checks with no email address attached and have no idea whose subscription to credit.
And I rarely get around to depositing checks. They sit on my desk for months. And get lost.

If you currently contribute $5 a month, we’ll automatically add you to the Pause for Beauty list. Similarly, if you’ve made a one-time donation of $50 to $99 in the last five months, we’ll automatically add you to the Pause for Beauty list. If you would rather receive Creativity as a Way of Life, please email Rod and let him and we’ll take care of the switch.

If you contributed more than $150 before we made this announcement (September 9), or have been making contributions of $15 or more a month, we’ll be in touch to ask if you’d like us to send you the books. If we don’t hear back we’ll send them, and you can give them as gifts.
Cancelling Your Membership Support
It is surprisingly difficult and time-consuming for me to cancel subscriptions in the back end of this website and on Stripe,
and people who I do help cancel seem to often get charged again. That never seems to happen to people cancel themselves.
If you subscribed on Substack, click on Unsubscribe in any email you receive, and follow the instructions provided.
(You’ll know that by whether Heron Dance bills your credit card or Substack).

(or by clicking on “Log In” in the top right corner of any page on the website, including this one),
Then click on subscription,
then scroll down,
then click cancel subscription.
Then click confirm.

We changed software providers in early April 2023 and no longer have access to the former accounts
but we can stop future charges by deleting your credit card in Stripe.
