What personal data we collect and why we collect it
1. We do not share your data with any outside company, person or other entity including email addresses, names or any other data other than Squarespace (for any transactions on this website) and Substack (for free email notices of new Art Journal postings). Squarespace needs your email, etc. to operate your subscriber account, and to charge your credit card. For your reference their privacy policy is below, as is that of Substack.
2. We reserve the right to transfer any and all information we collect from Site users to an affiliate, as well as to a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets, or stock (including without limitation in connection with bankruptcy or any similar proceedings) with or to such third party.
3. Links: The Site may include links to websites operated by third-parties. We endeavor to only link to reputable organizations; however, because these other sites are not hosted or controlled by us, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites or the content provided thereon. Therefore, the privacy policies with respect to these areas may differ from those applicable to the Site, and we encourage you to review the privacy policies of those other websites. This Privacy Policy only applies to information we collect through the Site. You acknowledge and agree that these linked-to sites are not under the control of Heron Dance Art Studio Inc. and that Heron Dance Art Studio Inc. makes no warranties, endorsements, recommendations, or representations whatsoever concerning the content of these other sites.
4. Security Measures: Heron Dance Art Studio Inc. uses reasonable administrative, physical and electronic security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your personally identifiable information. We periodically review the effectiveness of these security measures.

5. We do collect traffic through Google Analytics to better understand what pages visitors to our website find particularly interesting. We do not collect, view or store any information that identifies any particular visitor other than that captured to send opt-in subscribers emails, or to fulfill orders placed on the website.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. We will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
