As long as creative people feel in harmony with their work and are progressing, they are happy and fulfilled. When the relationship breaks down their interior life also breaks down.
- Ira Progoff, At a Journal Workshop
Journaling can help us gain access to the awareness each of us holds in the depths of our interior. We seek to open channels of communication, to encourage that quiet voice to offer what it wants to say.
Just as the universe is a creative entity constantly in the process of unfolding, so too does an inner universe exist inside our deep realms of semi-consciousness, and it too seeks to evolve, to unfold.
Creative people in particular are constantly in motion, engaged in an evolutionary process of becoming. To be static is to wither and die inside. We must evolve or putrefy.
. . .
Write down brief descriptions of the major events, major works, major successes and failures, of your creative life.
Look for a connective thread.
What creative direction, what creative work, has been trying to emerge, to manifest?
