Thoughts on love, focus and a meandering imagination

What we pour love into gains power. Love a creative work, and it gains power. Love a person and he or she gains power. Your power comes in part from those who love you. But I think, most importantly of all, it comes from inside. Love your life and it gains power.

Living life in your own way, on your own terms, is mostly about loving yourself, loving your life. The power you get, in part, is power over yourself. Power over your fears, which certainly come up from time to time in life lived out on one edge or another. Power over your tendency to get distracted by trivial things, and focus on that which is truly important – the creation of unique work and the sources of inspiration that underly. For me the inspiration comes from the sense of peace I find in wild nature. Serve that.

The energy of my life seems to want to disburse, to dissipate. The joy of my life – the creation of art – requires I overcome that entropy, and focus. It takes a lot of internal work and struggle to counter my meandering imagination.

Imagination is both my biggest ally and my biggest foe in the creation of this work. And focus the biggest challenge.

A daily inspirational journal exploring the use of journaling in understanding one’s life, its potentials, dreams and uncertainties. The journal and planner can be used any time of year, but are dated to match the second quarter of the ultimate four quarter journal. Each new quarter a new art journal and planner will be published to total twelve months.

Each day two-page spread includes a painting and journal notes on living a creative, meaningful life.

The Art Journal and Planner are designed to be used together, but also to be useful if used separately.
