"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
- Mary Oliver, from her poem The Summer Day.
For years, I’ve hosted dinners and invited a small group of interesting people. No more than eight. Most often, the people who come to these dinners don’t know each other. The starting point of conversation, and sometimes the entire evening, centers around the question:
"What has captured your imagination lately?"
Over the years, some wonderful evenings have evolved.
There are eight available seats so if you can join us, let me know. You are also welcome to bring someone, but again, just let me know.
Bring a dish to share. I'll bring two -- oak roasted salmon and a vegetarian dish. I have place settings for eight. Arrive a few minutes before six if you can and help me set up. The Baby Bull downstairs is open so if you are short of time you can pick up something there. You can view their online menu here.
To save a spot or spots, email me at rod@herondance.org or text me at (802)234-3120.
If your plans change and you make a reservation but can't join us, let me know. I'll also invite others I know or meet in my travels -- artists, novelists, poets, political activists, wilderness adventurers, spiritual searchers and seekers, AI pioneers -- anyone doing something interesting (to them) with this precious gift called life.
"Life is either daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller
