A Zen master never gets lost.
I never get lost because I don't know where I'm going.
That quality of not-knowing — purposeful, unhurried, open — is the spirit behind the next chapter of Heron Dance: short posts, paintings, and notes drawn from the hermit poets of the Zhongnan mountains and the Zen masters of Japan.
- Zen master Ikkya
An old path revisited;
For the next chapter of Heron Dance, I’m going to head off in the direction of work — both art and writing — inspired by the poetry of the ancient Taoist hermit poets of the Zhongnan mountains of south China and Zen masters of Japan. As part of that, I will publish short posts 3-4 times a week.
