Wildness in creative work.

I love spring water and wild air, and not the manufacture of the chemist’s shop. I see in a moment, on looking into our new Dial, which is the wild poetry, and which the tame, and see that one wild line out of a private heart saves the whole book.
     -  Emerson, in his journal. Dial was the publication on transcendentalism (a philosophy of the spiritual beauty underlying life and nature) that he founded with two others.

The objective of this part of my creative journey is to create abstract art that imbues a room, a home, with a sense of peace. The elements of that – simplicity (few shapes and those generally larger), and harmony (colors that work well together, that complement each other – colors that are more subtle than bold).

The other element is a wildness. Not tight, not self-conscious. Loose, relaxed, searching, searching deep down inside for the well of peace that exists there.

I’m making major progress with the work, but it needs more wildness.
