Frequently Asked Questions
What is your refund policy?
We want everyone who buys anything from Heron Dance to be happy. This is not always possible. Some people are perpetually unhappy, but we have, for instance, shipped the same order to the same person three times because they told us they didn’t receive it. It turned out that their spouse had commandeered the shipment without further communication. Thankfully, they returned the two misplaced shipments. We appreciate that.
If you receive something damaged, let us know within 24 hours for a full refund. If not 24 hours, soon. Unless you are on vacation. In that case, within 24 hours of your return from vacation. If we ask you to return it, we will reimburse shipping.
Return anything else at within 30 days for a full refund. Depending on the circumstances, we will either refund shipping or not. To request a refund of shipping, please call 802-234-3120 to describe the circumstances. We’re flexible.
We generally do not offer refunds on discretionary donations made to become a member or access member areas. Unless you are really, really unhappy with us. In that case, we probably will offer a refund to get rid of you. Memberships are cancellable at any time and we will cease all recurring payments on receipt of you letting us know by email (heron@herondance(dot)org), letter or phone call.
The provisions above apply only to items purchased through this website. If you have a problem with something purchased through Saatchi Art or Amazon, please contact them.
What is your subscription cancellation policy?
Heron Dance no longer charges for subscriptions.
How often is the e-journal A Pause For Beauty published?
The e-journal is published seven days a week, 365 days a year. Unless something unexpected develops.
Is everything in A Pause For Beauty true?
Don’t believe everything you read on this website. We use artistic license: we don’t let a few facts stand in the way of a good story. Or one we thought was good at the time.
What is the cost to become a member of Heron Dance Art Studio?
The cost is discretionary ranging from $3 to $25 a month, or a discretionary donation. Click on “Join Us” in the top menu to join us.
And THANK YOU!
Do you plan conferences or retreats?
Yes, plans are underway. We will provide more details as they become available.
Where did Heron Dance get its name?
Heron Dance got its name from a photograph I took at the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel Florida forty years ago. It was sunset and for a few minutes the lake turned golden color. The lake is only an inch or two deep. Tricolored herons, also known as Louisiana Herons, do a kind of dance to stir up the bottom. It helps them identify crabs and other possible prey on the bottom.
