Where did Heron Dance get its name?
Heron Dance got its name from a photograph I took at the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel Florida forty years ago. It was sunset and for a few minutes the lake turned golden color. The lake is only an inch or two deep. Tricolored herons, also known as Louisiana Herons, do a kind of dance to stir up the bottom. It helps them identify crabs and other possible prey.
