A Pause for Beauty:

One artist’s journal.

Excerpts from two poems by Robinson Jeffers

(Return and Monument).

A little too abstract, a little too wise,
It is time for us to kiss the earth again.

Erase the lines; I pray you to not love classifications
The thing is like a river, from source to sea mouth
One flowing life.

 . . .

Accessing the quiet
The quiet that underlies
The current of our lives
Our inner lives
The inner core
Of quiet wisdom.

Tapping into that
Accessing that
Celebrating that.

That inner place of quiet beauty
Somehow related to, connected to
Natural beauty.
The woods, rivers, the sky
Places where time moves more slowly.
A different rhythm.

A comfortable place to retreat into.
To create out of.
